Deceuninck Streamlines Extrusion Production, Closes NJ Plant

The Deceuninck Group, producer of PVC window systems and building profiles, announced that it will close its Oakland, NJ, production plant, consolidating extrusion production at its Monroe, OH, and Little Rock, AR, facilities. The company will complete the shift by the end of March, according to officials. The closure will affect 70 employees; the company reports attempting to support workers as they seek replacement employment.

The consolidation comes as a result of Deceuninck’s 2003 acquisition of Vinyl Building Products and Dayton Technologies. The to-be-closed Oakland site was a VBP production plant before the acquisition, and has continued to be a location focused on blending compound and producing extrusions for the building industry. The facility’s affiliated Pompton Plains, NJ, distribution center will remain open to serve the company’s area customer base.

This announced production consolidation is just that. Through much improved operating efficiencies, we become a more competitive industry leader.”

Deceuninck North America reported 2005 sales of $170 million.
