...both NC and RR will decline.

Happy New Year. I generally come back to work in a pretty upbeat mood following the holidays, but I confess that going into 2008, my optimism is tempered.

No one expects a dramatic upturn in new housing soon, and I’ve seen more than a few economic forecasters say a recession is possible for the coming year. Still, I’m hopeful. The remodeling and replacement market has shown signs of life, and maybe by year-end we’ll start to see some recovery in new construction.

What do you think? That’s our question for the first week of 2008. And, if you have any more specific thoughts on the coming year, email them to me. Look into your crystal ball and make your predictions.
