of Window & Door

Labor Day has passed. Yesterday was the first day of school for my kids. Fall is approaching and with it a normally busy season for replacement window and door companies. The remodeling and replacement market hasn’t been so terrific as of late, however, so what’s the outlook for this year?

On the downside, the housing market remains weak and credit for big remodeling and renovation projects isn’t exactly flowing the way it used to. On the plus side—although it’s not easy to call it a plus—home heating costs are projected to increase significantly this winter. More people may be looking at replacement windows and doors to help combat those higher costs. So what’s going to happen?

That’s our poll question for the week, and as usual, I’d like to hear more about your expectations for the coming months. I’d really like to hear more from you if your company is doing anything specific to target homeowners facing rising fuel bills. Are your efforts getting any traction? Email me and tell me all about it.
