Last week, a reader of WDweekly wrote to say “We’ve stopped reading it because every week is full of gloom and doom.” I certainly understand the perspective. I’ve been tempted to turn off the TV every time the latest news from the economic front comes on.
“Can you try to balance out the reporting?” our reader asked, and to that, I would answer a definite yes. We’ve been happy to share news from a couple of companies talking about growth and/or new plans. In the February issue, we’ll feature Harvey Building Products—a company that has opened several new locations over the past year. And I’d like to take this opportunity to specifically ask readers to send us good news from their companies. Are you having success with a particular product? Succeeding in a new niche? Are you laying new groundwork for future growth? Email me and tell me your story.
I’ll also ask about growth expectations for this week’s poll question. I’m hoping it’s happening at a few places already, but if it hasn’t, when do you think the numbers will turn around at your company?
