Have you hit bottom yet?
We still have a ways to go.
We're close, but not there yet.
We're bottoming out and should see gains soon.
We've past the bottom and we're heading up.

Good news!  I am not one who generally uses exclamation points in my writing, but I am very pleased that WDweekly is able to report that window manufacturers like Simonton and Andersen are bringing back workers. This typically happens in the spring, but this year we couldn't help but wonder when and even if it would happen.

These reports follow on the heels of Serious Materials re-opening Kensington Windows' old plant, an event noted by President Obama no less. Okay, do I expect window and door sales to start rocketing upward?  No, but I'm sensing the worst is over for our industry, and I want to see what happening at your companies.

So answer our poll question of the week, and more importantly, tell me what's happening in your area or your segment of the market?  Let me know about the signs of life you see or don't see.  Is it the $1,500?  Is it just a spring thaw?  Email me and share your thoughts...

"Admit it...are you spending money?"

The current economy has many readers holding off on discretionary spending, but responses to last week's Talk suggest people haven't tied up the pursestrings completely.
