IRS Issues New Guidance on Tax Credit Requirements
The Internal Revenue Service issued an advance notice
this week outlining documentation requirements that window and door
manufacturers must provide to homeowners looking to claim energy
efficiency home improvement tax credits under the American Recovery
& Reinvestment Act.

In April, we alerted WDweekly subscribers to an IRS press release that, in effect, put the .30/.30 tax credit requirements on hold until June 1, allowing homeowners to rely on Energy Star labels instead.
Now, the IRS has apparently ruled again. Although a press release hasn't been sent out yet, Notice 2009-53 was issued earlier this week. We hope you appreciate the extra WDweekly update this week.
