The Talk...

I believe that window and door dealers are:
Generally, more innovative and focused as a result of the downturn.
Overall, very similar to before the downturn.
Still mostly focused on survival as a result of the downturn.

Christina Lewellen, senior editor of Window & Door

I'm thrilled that today we finally present our 2010 Dealers of the Year award winners. I personally worked with these companies and was truly impressed by their stories of survival, innovation and values.  I'm glad it's time to share these stories with the industry.

The Dealers of the Year issue is always my favorite project of the year and has been since we founded the program in 2004. But these last couple of years, the companies making the final cut are cut from a particularly tenacious cloth. We all know that the last few years have been hard, so I'm pleased to see that there are still plenty of window and door specialty retailers that didn't let the Great Recession get in the way of their business goals.

Do you have a story to share about a particularly impressive dealer? Either a customer or your own company? Please send me an email to share how the dealership you have in mind has overcome the obstacles of the last few years to survive and thrive.  Or post a comment and let's Talk.

Maybe I'm just giddy on our Dealers of the Year program, but I'd venture to say our industry retailers have become more nimble and innovative than ever. What do you think? Take a peek at our poll and weigh in on how you think this downturn has impacted our supply chain partners.  And once again, a big congrats to our 2010 Dealers of the Year. Read their stories...I guarantee you'll be as impressed as I am.
