The popular marketing campaign, “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” won’t necessarily apply to this year’s GlassBuild America. For newcomers like myself, this event seems like one for sharing ideas and networking with leading figures in the industry—which can and will extend long after the event comes to a close. 
 
Just merely a year ago, it would have been hard to imagine going to Las Vegas to be part of such a nationally recognized event. But life is full of surprises. Now, working for Franklin Window and Door, I see the promise of working for a small business and the unique opportunities that arise as a result. 
 
In a short span of four years, Franklin Window and Door has marketed itself as the Marvin expert in the central Indiana area. To support this claim, our company has been acknowledged in several different national publications, including in Window & Door. And, in 2014, Franklin earned a Window & Door Dealer of the Year award for showroom design. 
 
Because of this connection, Cori Brown, the owner and design expert at Franklin Window and Door, was invited to speak as one of the keynote panelists at Window & Door Dealer Days, where she’ll provide insight on how to best create a beautiful, design-oriented showroom. 
 
Cori will be among the many guests and business leaders at Window & Door Dealer Days this year. Since first attending GlassBuild in 2013, she says she’s seen the event develop and mature. This year, she’s excited to see more high-end fenestration systems displayed in the featured Dream Showroom, including scenic bi-fold doors and aluminum clad/wood windows. 
 
Along with the Dream Showroom, Cori is anticipating several opportunities to converse with professionals in the industry and hopefully form some long-lasting relationships. Overall, she told me she continues to be impressed by GlassBuild’s attention to feedback and their desire to better the industry. 
 
For now, we at Franklin Window and Door will be continuing to do what we do best; selling high-end windows and doors with both design and durability in mind. But, come mid-October, we’ll be looking forward to seeing all of you at GlassBuild America and Window & Door Dealer Days.
