CGI Moves into Larger Plant

Construction Glass Industries, a Miami, FL-based manufacturer of impact-resistant windows and doors, has opened a 110,000-square-foot facility in Miami.

The site houses a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility plus an extensive 2,300-square-foot showroom and training area for use by dealers, builders and architects and their clients. The company, founded in 1992, was one of the first manufacturers in the United States to offer impact-resistant windows.
"Our products feature the durability of impact-resistant glass and aluminum framing in units that look like beautiful wooden windows and doors," says Flavio Quesada, owner of CGI. "Builders, architects and homeowners have realized that they can get beautiful aesthetics and hurricane protection without shutters or screens. To meet this increased demand and have an improved venue to showcase our products, we opened our new facility and showroom."

The new location replaces a former facility, which CGI has outgrown as it logs a growth rate of more than 30 percent annually, according to the company. The building houses about 130 employees and officials have already started the process of adding more people in the areas of production and officer personnel.

CGI offers a complete line of impact-resistant windows and French doors.

"Hurricanes are a way of life in this part of the country," says Quesada. "We plan to keep investing our resources to help homeowners be as safe as possible."
