Tremco and Q’So Marry Product Lines

Tremco Inc., manufacturer of TremGlaze and BuilderSeal window and door glazing products, announced today at GlassBuild America that it has entered into a distribution agreement with Q’So Inc.

Medina, OH-based Tremco will supply Q’So’s line of Instalam hot applied backbedding sealant. The product will be known as TremGlaze Instalam Sealants.

The strategic alliance will enable Tremco to distribute a hot applied product, which it does not currently offer in its product line up. “Everyone we’ve dealt with is very excited [about the partnership] because there were holes in both product lines,” says Chris Arnoldt, marketing manager for Q’So. “Coming together just makes sense for our customers. We’re now a one-stop-shop for every customer’s needs.”

The alliance doesn’t include a merger or a permanent arrangement—the companies have simply combined product lines at this time to target the window and door markets. “It’s a logical progression for both companies and the most cost effective way to reach new customers, rather than making a change to our manufacturing approaches,” Arnoldt adds.

Q’So will continue to solely distribute its other coating products, including coating glues for flashing materials and house wraps. The Fort Worth, TX, company is no longer owned by parent company DMI, but falls under sole ownership of President and CEO Fred Arnoldt. Q’So moved from a 25,000-square-foot facility earlier this year to a renovated, former pharmaceutical plant taking up about 75,000 square feet.
