WDMA Names New Executive as it Nears Fall Meeting
The Window and Door Manufacturers Association has named Joel R. Hoiland as its new president. A 26-year trade association veteran, he most recently served as president and chief executive officer of the 500+ member International Warehouse Logistics Association, based in Chicago.
“We’re delighted to have Joel Hoiland join us at this pivotal point in our organization’s history. His career as an association leader, coupled with his international expertise, made him an ideal selection," says Jim Hackett of Jeld-Wen, current WDMA chair. "The timing is perfect as WDMA is well positioned to expand and offer even more benefits to members and the industry as well as specifiers and consumers.”
“I am honored to have been entrusted with leading WDMA, an organization of extraordinary strengths of quality companies and people," Hoiland states. "I pledge to build upon this foundation working diligently to position the association and the recognition of members as the world leaders of the fenestration industry.”
Hoiland succeeds acting president, Jeffrey Lowinski, who returns to his position as WDMA’s vice president of technology marketing.
Members will have their first opportunity to meet Hoiland at WDMA's upcoming fall conference at the J.W. Marriott Resort in Las Vegas. That event kicks off with a full day of committee meetings on Friday, October 27.
With social events planned for Saturday, October 28, the educational portion of the conference begins on Sunday, October 29 with programs covering changing demographics, and a focus group gathering builders, architect and other experts examining what homes will be like in 2020. The group will also look at current changes, ranging from decreasing home sizes and new technologies in demand.
The program on Monday, October 30, features speakers and panel discussions looking at the growing demand for green, the changing code and regulatory arena, rising energy costs, and changing installation practices. More information about the event is available at www.wdma.com
