Pella, an Energy Star partner since 1999, is being honored for its leadership in manufacturing products that earn the Energy Star label, as well as the company’s comprehensive integration of Energy Star information in consumer education materials, advertising, its Web sites and training materials. “Pella has been committed to environmental stewardship and providing quality product solutions to our customers throughout the company’s 82-year history,” says Elaine Sagers, vice president of marketing for the Iowa-based manufacturer. “Pella is proud to be recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy for providing products that help customers save money and conserve valuable natural resources.”
Precision, a partner in the program since 2002, is being honored for its leadership in producing doors that earn the Energy Star label. The Ohio-based company has taken the unique step of manufacturing all its entry door systems to be Energy Star qualified.
“Every year the demand grows for Energy Star products,” says Bill Mullet, Precision president and CEO. “This is our second consecutive year of earning this prestigious award, and we will continue to work hard to design, manufacture and promote Energy Star products that benefit homeowners.”
Companies like Pella and Precision are national leaders in energy efficiency, says Alexander Karsner, DOE assistant secretary for energy efficiency and renewable energy, “The Energy Star Partner of the Year Award winners are leaders in adopting energy efficient technologies for their products and practices. Their long term commitment to energy efficiency is good for business, the environment, for consumers—and for the country as a whole.”
Pella and Precision, along with numerous companies and organizations in a variety of fields, will be officially recognized at an awards ceremony in Washington, DC, on March 21.
